Overnight Kit

What is an overnight kit?

Ito ay isang maliit na toiletry bag na binigay ng Delta Airlines sa aming yours truly Ekra at Mama O sa airport.

It includes:
a. white T-shirt
b. toothbrush and toothpaste
c. hairbrush
d. razor and shaving cream
e. laundry detergent
f. cotton balls and cotton buds
g. deodorant


Bakit kami may overnight kit?

Papunta kami ng Rio de Janeiro via Atlanta Airport last Friday. Pagdating sa Atlanta, may mga thunderstorms. 20 minute delay sa himpapawid hanggang maka landing. Pagkalanding at taxiing ng eroplano, kumidlat. Pinapasok ang mga empleyado sa airport for another 15 minutes to take cover daw. Charot sila. Para kidlat lang eh nag take cover na lahat.

Waiting. Waiting. Parating na ang ramp to the door of the plane so lahat ay gigil na gigil ng lumabas. (Our plane leaves in 30 minutes for Brazil.) Huminto ang ramp. Ayaw ng umandar. Tumawag ng assistance. 20 minutes walang success. Nag decide to park to another terminal ang piloto. Bobo pa rin sila. 10 minutes to departure. Nakalabas kami ng eroplanlo, Run lola run ang drama ng mga lola nio. Naka sandals pa man din. Prada. vs. Zara. Hingal to the max.

We reached the gate, and sure enough lumipad na ang punyetang eroplano. PUNYETAH SILA. Kung pasahero ang mahuli na kasalanan din naman ng Mother Nature at equipment failure nila, hindi sila makapaghintay ng kahit 30 minutes. Kung eroplano nila ang may sira, they delay the flights for an hour or so. PUNYETAH SILA. DELTA AIRLINES. PUNYETAH.

So bakit kami may overnight kit?

Isang pasasalamat mula sa DELTA AIRLINES after waiting in line for 3 hours trying to rebook our flights to an earlier flight (once a day lang ang biyahe sa Brazil), after calling Expedia, Delta, Northwest back on forth for an hour or two trying to figure out kung sino ang mag re re-issue ng tickets namin, after $200 of hotel stay sa Best Western since they cannot pay for it kasi daw weather reasons ang flight delays so hindi nila kasalanan, after 2 nights of staying in Atlanta until Sunday when we fly to Rio, after trying to contact the hotel in Rio to refund our two nights of not staying there. After all the pagod, gutom, taranta, galit, dighay, hingal, na halos magka nervous breakdown na kami pareho including 144 other passengers na hindi rin naka lipad, OVERNIGHt KIT LANG ANG AMING NAPALA.

So two nights ang mga bakla sa Best Western hotel. Eto ang view from our room:

Nag clubbing na lang ang mga bakla hanggang alas dos ng umaga.

P.S.
Successful ang online call center business ni Mama O. Hindi lang Overnight Kit ang kanyang napala. Midday Kitkitan ng Titi sa Hotel! Oh Di ba bongga. There's a reason for everything nga naman....
