The new releases at Finesmith Jewelry are stunning! The Disturbia Veil is a unique jeweled mask made of metal and lace. It gives the wearer a sexy and mysterious look.

The Hallucinations Collar & Bracelets are scripted with 6 metal and 12 gem colors. I really like the gold/silver combination which makes the set extremely versatile. All three pieces are well made and look brilliant on!

The Hallucinations Necklace & Earrings are also scripted for texture change. These are my favorite pieces from the new releases. The necklace is a flawless design that's pleasing to the eye. The earrings are so delicate and complement the necklace perfectly.

“Finesmith Jewelry style about….” a challenging styling contest held every week on FRIDAY mornings 9am slt. The contest will run for 10 weeks and every week there’s one unique theme that will test your creative stylings! Research the fashion and art styles using exclusively the jewelry from Finesmith Jewelry. Create that one breath-taking look that will take you to the finals. Interpret the theme into your own vision and let’s see it on the runway.

How to be a part of the FINESMITH JEWELRY STYLE ABOUT...

3. The Finesmith Jewelry style about… will be judged by designers, agency owners, photographers and more. It’s good exposure for all aspiring models to shine on the runway.
4. Every week there will be a new theme. every friday at 9am slt. Research the subject and style the perfect outfit.

October 8: 1st week- Steampunk
October 15: 2nd week- Kitsch
October 22: 3rd week- Manierism
October 29: 4th week- Surrealism
November 5: 5th week- Classic
November 12: 6th week- Avante Garde
November 19: 7th week- Fetish

December 17: 11 th week Final week theme to be announced ( all the 10 winners will compete with each other in this week)

5. In a NC write your styling description and what inspired you to create that style. Put in your modeling resume and rename the card (Example: Finesmith style about…- Yula Finesmith)
Send your NCs to YULA FINESMITH no later than 6AM every friday. No NC no chance to show your stylings on the runway.
6. Contest will start OCTOBER 8 at 9am slt
7. The winner of the WEEKLY STYLINGS will have a chance to move on the finals.
8. Please make sure the date for the final event is available for you incase you will be a finalist.

Somnium NEW From BOOM!

BOOM has a little black dress in the shop that's covered in roses. The Somnium has alot of character and is more than just your basic black dress, since all the pieces can be worn separate or together. The bodysuit has a nice cut around the legs and a zipper in the back. I added a strapless black bra to the chestpiece and can wear it as a top. The bodysuit with the skirt and your favorite jewelry is a nice look. This ensemble is so versatile and is being sold in a unique way. You purchase the bodysuit for 125L. Then, each flower color of the chestpiece/skirt is sold separately for 125L. This significantly lowers the price to get more colors.

Lemania Indigo has a special in the courtyard called Cotton Candy Wedding that is a confection of flowers, sequins and rosebuds. This gown is as sweet as sugar, with all three shirt layers coordinated together to make the bodice so frilly. The rosebuds on the long gloves are a nice touch. Underneath the long flexi skirt and pant layer, you’ll find sexy panties, stockings and matching pumps. The swirling roses on the headpiece and veil are textured to match the bodice, it’s a very pretty design and looks good on. I like the gown with the jacket and bra layer removed, it’s very sexy! This gown usually sells for 695L but is on sale for the next few days for 450L.

NEW Claudia2 From LAQ

I'm wearing the newest skin release from LAQ!

Claudia2 is a Witchy Poo prepared to swoop in on her broom, brew up some love potion number 99 and cast a bewitching spell... You don't stand a chance!

LAQ is one of my favorite skin shops. I have to admit to being a bit disappointed in Claudia2. All the faces look the same to me. Makeup 5 is the only eyeshadow with some color, the rest of the makeups all consist of dark eyeliner. Makeup 10 does have some sparkles above the eye but once again no color. Even the lipsticks are all similar with the exception of the 2 red lips. I want to see more pink lipstick and more color on the eyes. Don't get me wrong, this is a pretty face, just a bit boring. I like the sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of the nose on makeup 8. The lips on makeup 7 are awful, parted lips scare me.


Claudia2 like all LAQ skins has a sexy body. The shading is expertly done, this skin is true to it's name, it glows! In my opinion, there's really nothing new with this skin release. If you're a fan of neutral makeups or previous Claudia skins, then the 1990L pricetag is worth it.

NEW Truth Hair! 10-28

Truth has 4 NEW styles in the shop that will be all over the feeds today :) First up is Clio photographed in almond. This is a cute set of ponytails that will make a nice hairstyle for a kid avatar. You get the standard wig and the streaked version which comes with 63 colors now... WOW! The Clio style was sent out as a Halloween present to the subscribo group with 8 florescent colors in both standard and streaked versions. I especially like the orange hair... THANK YOU TRUTH!

Liv in dawn streaked is a long style that comes with a split attachment point option so the hair doesn't sink into your chest. You get the standard wig plus the streaked version in 63 colors. This is a long style parted in the middle, cascading over both shoulders and down the back.

Tamina in Carrot streaked is so adorable! This is a very long pigtail pulled over the right shoulder. You get the standard plus streaked wig in 63 colors. I really like how casual this hair looks, like she just stepped out of bed.

The final new style in the shop is for the guys. Drake in caramel streaked comes with the standard plus streaked wig in 63 colors. I like how the hair stands up very stylishly on top. This hair looks fabulous on the ladies too.

Adaptations of Braces

Braces were originally designed to hold up pants. As Alan Fusser states, “Trousers were originally made to be worn with suspenders, which held them on the waist, not the hips, and that is where they look and hang best.”

Braces were then attached to skirts, as they also need support.

In recent years, braces have also been added to other articles of clothing such as vests and skirts.

Or adaptations on the braces themselves. Such as 

• Wing-tips on the braces

• Fur braces

Regardless of where braces are used, more people should start wearing them!

Swank Injured By Suspenders In Freak Set Accident
06 January 2007

Actress HILARY SWANK needed stitches while shooting new movie P.S., I LOVE YOU when she was hit by a co-star's suspenders. The Oscar winner was acting opposite movie husband GERARD BUTLER in the film when his braces snapped and hit Swank in the forehead. She says, "It came undone and flung across the room and hit me in the forehead... I had stitches. "Blood is trickling down my head and it left a perfect suspender mark - you know, the jagged edge of a suspender and then the straight edge."

This would have never happened if Gerard was wearing button-on braces. Be ware of clip-on suspenders!

Suspenders save Life
From November 9, 1918

His heavy suspenders saved Horace Gibbs, of No. 1125 Clover street, from being killed in Camden by Emanuel McKimm of No 742 Sycamore street. When McKimm was arraigned before Recorder Stackhouse yesterday on a charge of firing teh shot, Gibbs showed where the bullet plowed through his vest and shirt and then was stopped by steel in the suspenders.
It was explained that when Gibbs was taken to the Cooper hospital the bullet fell to the floor as the physicians were about to probe for it. The accused man was committed to jail in default of $1,000 bail. The two had quarred about a trivial matter.

So wear suspenders, they may save you life!
