The Filipino Surname

The Muhlachs started it all. One of the first foreign-sounding last names in Philippine Showbiz. Or was it brought into being by O'Brien (Baby)? Established by Bonnevie (Dina)? Or set up by Discher (Etang)?

Not so long ago we heard of:
Dixson (Alice), Medved (Nanette), Taylor (Maui), Dalrymple (Serena), Bovick (Aleck), Page (Amanda), Bunevacz (David), Turvey (Brad), Agassi (Carlos), Carlson (Maria Teresa), Jones (Angelica), Miles (Aubrey), and The Prats (including Mia),

With them adding fuel to the fire:
Curtis (Ann), Milby (Sam), De Rossi (Alex and Assunta), Geisler (Baron), Wilson (Maggie), Gerbach (Melanie), Anderson (Gerald), Andrews (Bobby), Khouny (Uma), Kurdi (Yasmien), Moto (Iwa), and Ramsay (Derek)

Filipinos are no longer referred to as 'The Asians with Spanish surnames'. We are becoming International. It is because we are everywhere na talagah! Sa totoo lang. And to also add, gone were the days when Chinese Family names are exclusively for the Pinoy Business World only. Now we have them in Showbiz too... Hello Kim Chiu and Echong Dee!

And gosh ha! they wont stop. Let's welcome the new breed:
Mische (Jewel), Heusaff (Solenn), Guidicelli (Matteo), Younghusband (Phil), Schuck (Empress), Batherson (Ian), Stroem (Markki), Ricks (Melissa), Raj (Venus) and of course The Eigenmanns.

Butt.....

If there is one to be awarded with the most exotic and unusual name in Pinoy Showbiz ever, that would, without question, goes to...... Jackie Kookooritchkin! Taray ano? Pls lang!
